The
Disk Dr. Waist is a medical device designed to treat herniated (bulging)
and degenerative discs in the lumbar spine. Unlike conventional waist
belts that simply restrict movement, the Disk Dr. is an orthopedic traction
instrument that can reduce the pressure on lumbar discs through widening
of intervertebral space. This unloading of the discs can quickly provide

How
It Works:
Through the use of air pressure, scientifically designed air tubes inside
the Disk Dr. Belt expand the device vertically to apply a traction force
to the lumbar spine. When inflated to 12 psi, the Disk Dr. expands approximately
8 cm. vertically and exerts a traction force of 66 kg. (145 lbs.) to
the lumbar spine.

Through the use of X-Ray, The Disk Dr. has shown to increase intervertebral
space (space between the vertebrae) by 3 mm. at the L4-L5 level in the
lumbar spine. This increase in space effectively unloads pressure on
the lumbar discs.
